However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford launched a heavy metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She began taking voice lessons and soon released her first album , 'Dancin' On the Edge'. Ford could not do much with either album, and she left the music scene for a decade. The year was 1988 when Ford debuted her wildly successful album 'Lita.' Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever which both of which were huge hits were two instances. Unfortunately, the success of her career was brief as for a number of years she was out of the industry of entertainment. In 1995 she released 'Black,' and 15 years later she released 'Wicked' Wonderland. Her latest album was released in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
